If you don't really understand what I'm aiming to do,

Paste that into google if you want to make sure it's safe etc,

It has examples of Maximum Likelihood Examples, it shows how to manipulate so that I can then take the Log...then the derivative...then estimate.

Unfortunately I'm stuck at the first stage with my question, but if you want/need some background example that's a good website that has 2 different ones

Am I right in assuming after this, that if I differentiated logx2 with respect to x1, it would be 0? Not 1?

I really get confused when to input the values
