Thank you all for viewing and considering the problem. I guess there is no answer with the complication of the 18 holes, and different scoring possibilities on each hole - let alone including the different handicaps of all players!

To perhaps simplify, I am now trying to work out the different % chance, in a random game of luck, where 2 out of 3 attempt a task v's 2 out of 4 - assuming equal skill.

Any help would be appreciated.

We often play best 2 scores from a team of 3, on each hole, over 18 holes of Golf, with each person hoping to score 36 Stableford points (2 on each hole - based on their handicap, but could score 0 on some holes and 1, 2, 3 or 4 on others).
Often we end up with a team of 4, and to keep everyone in the game allow that team to play best 2 from 4 - taking off 6 points from their total. This is a random adjustment and wonder if there is a mathmatical calculation to work out how much their score should be reduced by.
