On the subject of the "Who owns the fish problem?"
I'll start by saying there several different variations of the problem, and depending on the specific one that you look at, either the German owns the fish for sure, or in the later versions of the problem the clues say nothing about a fish, but the German is the only person left without a pet, so presumably the German is the only possible answer.
In conclusion you could either say that the German owns the fish, or you could sepculate that there is no fish in the clues, and therefor no one owns the fish.
