So menhetn distance as anoni has mentioned would be like walking along blocks in a big city, you can't go diagonally,
but only follow x and y to get there and then compute the distance.  Very simple, much easier, no pythagoean theorem.

Lutetium works nicely in diagonal lines on the ten-pin theme:
174.9668  I think that's what it is, I'll go check...

Yup, that's just right.  At least from 2009 to 2011, twenty may change this summer a little.

#1).  Why is this a triangle with possible negative values?  Are they vectors?  Can you state the triangle inequality theorem you need to use?
wiki is unclear on this, though the answer does seem obvious, as you can see, but I know you need a rigourous proof.

I noticed that 3 times inverse ln(.345) gets bobbys answer.
That is also 3 times 2.71828**0.345 where ** mean "raise to the power of".
e = 2.71828....
The log base e is the natural log or "ln" on a calculator.
But e raised to a power is done with inverse or 2nd function and then
press the "ln" key.
So 0.345, press inverse ln key and get 1.4119899.
Then multiply 1.4119899 by 3 for bobbys answer.

I don't know what this is all about and I don't support the answer,
but I am just trying to explain the number bobby has.

Well, I thought I'd take a quick look around the forum before I head to the sack.  I tried to memorize #57 Lanthanum and #59 Praseodymium.
Let's see if I can recite them without papers...
Hmmm... 140.90765 and 138.90547.  I think that's right.
#59 and #57 in that order.  Now I'll go get the papers and check...
Yup, it looks good!!  So I remembered them for over an hour, so they
might be getting into longterm memory soon.

Certainly you must have more information than this to offer.
It seems out of context.
Without more to read, or more that you were trained,
I can't see completing what you want.
Maybe someone else can do better though.
Either get more info for me, or wait for another user.

y = (x-i)(x+i)(x-2)
Just a guess.  i is square root of neg one, right?

youtube is choppy after 5pm I noticed ESTime today anyway.  Maybe higher volumes of people.  Can't even download some songs at all more than 22 seconds.

Yes I have green canvas cot too, but I built seven clothes lines over it, with four vertical posts tied to the four corners, and
some other connecting wickits I got from after an election, by collecting the signs on the side of the road.  The huge wickets
are used to make connections to the two posts on each end of the cot.  Then clotheslines cross on two levels.  Sometimes
I still use the 230 volt clothes dryer downstairs, but usually I just wash in the washer and then dry on above the cot.
Sometimes, I even wash my clothes in the bathtub.  That's a good workout.  It's a camping cot made for up to near 300 lbs.
Not a cheap one, about $70 I remember.  Right now a cheap violin and guitar are on it in cases under clothes when they
are there. Right now it is empty on the lines.  About time to do another wash, maybe tomorrow.

They give me no bad feelings, like the CFL do, or used to two years ago when we had to remove them from the house.
The LED ones I mentioned seem to be voltage rectified to DC in the socket part that warms up a bit, but this creates no blinking of the LEDs at a rate of 60 times a second in the USA.   Actually, some of the old incandescents, depending on the company, some, only a small percentage have bothered me, but these Phillips LED ones seem terrific.  I've only tried the yellow ones with the three
sections.  There are three grooves in them at 120 degrees and 240 degrees and 360/0 degrees.  Really happy with them and only 12 watts they say.  Sometimes I leave one on for several hours for that wattage, even when I'm asleep sometimes, but because I'm not careful to shut the one beside my floor-bed right away before I close my eyes.  I sleep on matting I designed on the floor.   It is made of many towels and a sleeping bag opened up and five pillows for the shoulders and head.  Everything is washable if the cat peas on it.  I got a great deal on four pillow for $3 bucks each!!  The pillow covers were like $1.50 more than that each.

That long one actually might be missing the very last act, according to a question by a viewer.
My cat Princess is sitting up beside the computer watching my every move and enjoying the light
beside the computer.  It is an old 60 watt bulb, but it heats her up when she's right under it.
I have two of the new Phillips 12 watt LED bulbs in the house and we like them.
They are yellow plastic when shut off, and the light shines thru them.  They were $30 a piece,
no $39 actually.  They are as bright as a 90 watt bulb old style.   Just darker than a 100 I mean.
I have a very short mohawk now, did it myself today.

Here's what I'm listening to now.
Yang Bartolotti, violin soloist in "Winter" Movement #2 at Saddleback's Feast of Lights Concert
It downloaded very slowly, so I've heard the beginning about 10 times while it downloaded
and I changed the setting gear to 280? instead of 360.  This is only 1/12th of the whole Four Seasons.
It is the middle of the winter, the slow part.  Each season has 3 parts: fast, slow, fast.

Keeps the happiness flowing even better than just numbers alone.
It was cloudy today here, so this is nice.  Music instead of sunlight.

This candlepin/tenpin bowling
system works great for silver #47.
silver is 107.8682

7_8_9_0
_4_5_6_
__2_3__
___1___

Took me a whole day once to comprehend
the tenpin structure in my head well.
Par example: the 7-8-5-4 diamond shape,
likewise the 0-9-5-6 diamond shape.
And the 1-2-5-3 diamond shape.
And the hexagon: 2-4-8-9-6-3

I'm between 30 to 31 minutes now.
I'm eating some smoked salmon sent as a gift from my relatives in Washington state,
remember the guy who was in NASA and also worked for Boeing?

#494 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » weight lifting miracle today » 2012-01-25 09:32:33

Yeah, and very good so far... I'm up to 10 to 11 minutes in now...

#495 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » weight lifting miracle today » 2012-01-25 09:26:54

Yes, the numerical arrangement has special meaning to me, though it remains personal to me.

Off the subject, now I'm listening to a very very long baroque piece:

A. Vivaldi: La Silvia (RV 734) / The complete opera, Milan 1721 / Ensemble Baroque de Nice

I don't know how it is going to end.

#496 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » weight lifting miracle today » 2012-01-25 09:12:32

I think I'm gonna alter my big-H block diagram, by
switching the 4 and the 5.  This has been bothering
me for many months, so now it will be like this:

7___0
6_5_1
8_4_2
9___3

I know the six and the seven don't make sense, but
I like it that way.  I have my reasons.

#498 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » weight lifting miracle today » 2012-01-25 08:51:25

(7 inches I just read, and 12" for 33s and 10" for 78s)
Gonna go on deck for a break and lift logs for exercise.

#499 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » weight lifting miracle today » 2012-01-25 08:46:08

Right now I'm listening to this one:
It is totally different based on the singing and flute instead.
youtube:     A. Vivaldi La Candace Aria "Io son fra l'onde" - Ann Hallenberg

I have some vivaldi 33 1/3 records, aren't the 45's the tiny ones you can stack up?

#500 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » weight lifting miracle today » 2012-01-25 08:37:00

Sounds even better filling the room with the sound.
I've got away from #25 (manganese) 54(1720-->9380)45 and now I am focusing on #69 thulium.
It has a neat pattern in one of my block modules I call the big-H.   It is 168.93421

7___0
6_4_1
8_5_2
9___3

This "H" diagram was something I memorized last summer and was using a lot for the elements.
It works really well for 168.93421 due to the simple flow pattern.
