how is the 'smallest' singularity defined? is it the smallest by absolute value? or do we see negative values as smallest?

i expanded around 1 and got principle part: 1/(4(x+1)).then i expanded that and got 1/4-x/4+x^2/4-x^3/4+O(x^4)

when we expand the coefficients go alternatively 1/4 and -1/4.so for the one u asked i get 1/4. big_smile
