By now there are 5 satellites of Pluto.
Is there going to be more?

I am not sure that a moon can be bigger than the planet it orbits around.

Re: Pluto

Two objects would orbit around the same center of gravity which would be closer to the more massive object.

Re: Pluto

Which is the current situation of the Pluto-Charon-Nix-Hydra-S/P2011-S/P2012 system. They all orbit 1 center of gravity that lies outside of, but is closest to, Pluto.
The Sun - Earth system has its center lying inside the sun, and so does the earth-moon system whose center lies inside the Earth.

I love that app. I remember trying to make a stable 3 body system in it.

Re: Pluto

What is more important is that it just recently lost 2 moons.

Re: Pluto

So, the event 'Pluto recently lost 2 moons' is more importanat than 'I can only find 3 Pluto moon names'. That means whatever the number is, it was already a reduced number. Right?

Re: Pluto

Not exactly. She was saying she can only find three so I was saying maybe it recently lost 2. In the last 2 days or so.
