What do you say of the books' answer it has x-7 as it answer. What do you?

Please - what do you mean? - I don't understand.

3 - (x - 4 )
You say it is 7 - x and the book says it is x - 7.
Try plugging in a number for x and see what happens.

I said I had -x+7, and the book has x-7 and I don't know which one is correct.

What happens if you plug in 5 for x?

It gives 2

When you plug in x = 5 into 3 - (x - 4 ) you get?

It gives (-6)
When I plug 5 into 3 - (x + 4 ) with a calculator

Hi Bobbym;
I have had hard time solving this and I need your help;
(1) 3^(x+1) (3^(3+x) - 3) = 0
This is it

Hold on, we are still doing the other problem.
You used the wrong expression.
When I plug 5 into 3 - (x + 4 ) with a calculator
This is important so please work this out.
When you plug in x = 5 into 3 - (x - 4 ) you get?
In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.

Ok,
3 - ( x - 4)
3 - (5 - 4)
3 - (1)
3 - 1 = 2

Okay now the book answer was x - 7 and yours was 7 - x.
Plug in x = 5 in x - 7
Plug in x = 5 in 7 - x

5 - 7 = -2
7 - 5 = 2

So which one is right?

The x - 7 is right

Which was your answer, right?

My answer was (-x+7) but all the same it gives 2 when 5 is plugged in

I am particularly worried that I had -x+7 wheras the book had x-7

Hmmm, when you plug in x = 5 in the book answer do you get the same as when you plug in x = 5 in 3 - (x - 4 )

Sorry! the had 7 - x rather. And still I am worried why it had that

Does it agree with 3 - (x - 4 ) when you plug some numbers in?
