Anyone know if  the
9th, 10th and 12th months
were named after the
numbers two below that.
Sept = 7
Oct = 8
Dec = 10
Is it just a coincidence?

Or maybe it's my English, that might sound different too.
When I say crayons, it rhymes with pans and cans.
There are three ways to pronounce crayons according to my dictionary.

A while ago I made a 12 sided figure out of paper, by
drawing touching pentagons, and cutting and taping it up.
(I did that because I wrote each of the 12 notes of the chromatic scale on each side to make a die (dice) for thinking about random musical intervals)
I thought today, if you make a dot at the center of the 12
pentagons, and connect them together to form edges of
another 3-D figure, you get the twenty sided one made out
of triangles.  Then I noticed if you repeat that, and put dots
in the middle of the triangles, you revert back to the original
shape (dodecagon), but it is a reduced size dodecagon.
I wonder how much smaller it is?

Did you say that D is along AB and E is along BC?
If so, then DE is parallel to AC, not BC.

At a lumberyard, wood (bois) is turned into boards (planks), and they may be marked with crayons, which rhymes with three (trois), five (cinq), fifteen (quinze).
I can't forget this one, so it works for me!  Everyone is different.

#3157 Re: Help Me ! » Same Problem!!!!! » 2006-02-28 07:17:40

johny, if you can come up with the four (x,y) positions that are the
corners of this curved quatrilateral, then we can procede.
By you coming up with these (x,y) positions where the 60 degrees
works, this will further explain the problem, so there is no
uncertainty as to what you need because the we can draw
straight lines for those two sides of the shape.  So get to work and
report back to us.

Try this perhaps, it is a new forum since September I think.

Statistics is unlike other math because you can't figure it out without referring to sources, graphs, tables.  Statistics means follow the rules you've been taught without any freedom of thought.

I have also been enjoying the skiing, snowboarding, and skating.  Really good stuff!  Can anyone watch it as it is going on?  NBC TV station is showing many hours after it really happened.  By the way, what Torino time do they start each day?

"Dimensions of a rectangle" means what is the "width and length" of the rectangle.

I would draw the "X" made by the two diagonals.

Try to make the left and right angles 120 degrees
and the top and bottom angles 60 degrees, since they said 60.
  120 + 60 is 180, that's why.

Then draw the rectangle around the X.

Now you see isosolese triangles, so to make them right triangles,
draw a big plus sign right through the X.

Now you have eight right triangles, all of them 30/60/90 triangles, I think.

Good luck.

.99 ^ big number, goes down.
1.01^ big number, goes up.

I don't know, but in general it would be larger than n^2.

It's fun to hear about everyone being involved with music!  I also can whistle a strange way I discovered which is really loud, but still very musical.  You can form a diamond shaped hole with both index fingers and both thumbs and blow through.  You have to cut your fingernails short to do it well, at least I do.  At first I learned this forming a triangular hole with one thumb and two index fingers and blowing through, but the sound isn't quite as nice a timbre.  It took a lot of practice to perfect...

Here's somemore silly ones:

See me skate forever more, three eights, twenty-four.        3x8

Ski with Kevin, plenty of fun, three sevens, twenty-one.     3x7

Trees, bridges, shady scene, three sixes is eighteen.        3x6

What is the meaning of the y prime (y')?
Is it dy/dx ?

Yup.  My best instrument by far is the clarinet.  I've played for 29 years.

Sweet Potatoes, justlookingforthemoment!!!  You rock and jive!!!

four sevens, sore Devon, he fell on his skates, twenty-eight.          4x7

four sixes, more delicious, so much more, twenty-four.                 4x6
four sixes, more wishes, plenty more, twenty-four.                     4x6
four sixes, chores, dishes, send me Clorox, twenty-four socks.         4x6

four fives, Can we the wash endives, all twenty.                       4x5

Long ago, I also played alto and tenor sax.
I just started trying the trombone a little.
And I fiddle around on the violin, no pun intended, very rudimentary.
I can make up a few easy tunes on a flute I have too.

So ryos has shown that you can figure out certain points on a cycloid by
working from the center of rotation and adding in the horizontal
movement that the center moves.

I don't get it either.
