I don't mind too much about this particular one - I can get used to it. The LaTeX display error in the dark formats is bad though, since I usually use those layouts.
You have to state the question better, maybe like nontrivial solutions only.
alpha = 0, n = 0
I also think it should cost more than 2 rep points. If an up vote is 5 or more, so should a down vote.
I thought they didn't cause any reputation points? Mine stay the same?
Hi;
I meant that post for mathaholic, but anyway, I still wrote there that it still happens.
This still happens after the upgrade.
You're welcome.
Who's giving bobbym so much reputation?
I like the upgrade as it feels subtly better.
It doesn't matter too much which forum software is used - the content matters much more.
As an added note, you are assuming that all functions are surjective. That is not the case.
What about it?
We need better rules.
Hi John E. Franklin;
Did you finish the lectures?
Of course, the total amount of usually considered axioms are in the hundreds.
I don't have the links but what I wrote in my last post it really all the advice you will get from the other forums.
Are we done with the problem or is there something else you don't understand?
Yes.
I was talking about the field axioms.
(1) Addition is commutative.
(2) Addition is associative.
(3) There exists an additive identity 0.
(4) Existence of additive inverses (opposites).
(5) Multiplication is commutative.
(6) Multiplication is associative.
(7) There exists a multiplicative identity 1.
(8) Existence of multiplicative inverses (except for 0).
(9) Distributivity of multiplication over addition.
Speaking of cosmology, I am planning to have a career in quantum cosmology.
I deleted the older post to put all of the part solutions.
This is about the 10th time I am doing this question from other forums. Let me guess: you go to Teeside university.
a)
Work=force ×distance
W=80 ×5
W=400J
b) Use sigma F = ma. From this find the sum of forces. There are two forces acting: the 80N push and the resisting force of friction. So force of friction = pushing force - ma.
c) Calculate the mass's acceleration from the data that it moves 5 m in 0.92 seconds: from d = 1/2 at^2 and solve for a. Then calculate velocity as a function of time: v = at. Finally Kinetic Energy as a function of time is KE= 1/2mv^2 = 1/2m(at)^2
d) Kinetic Energy as a function of distance is v^2 = 2ad so Kinetic Energy = 1/2mv^2 = 1/2m(2ad)
I don't care about how long to live!
I do.
What does it being surjective have anything to do with it being a function? Anyway, to tell if it is a surjective function, we need it's codomain.
It is not a function.
A function is a relation that relates every element of the domain to exactly one element of the co-domain.
No, you mean range or image.
This still happens after the upgrade.
Often the case, but not essential. But just to satisfy you; here are some worthy questions:
(1) What is bobbym's real age ?
(2) What is your favourite colour ?
(3) Where on Earth is the place that is furthest from the centre of the Earth ?
(4) Is this question worthy ?
Can you give an example of a question that is not worthy ? And even if you can, you would be wrong (sorry
) because your example breaks the first axiom of the theory.

2. I do not know.
3. Of course not. I know enough physics (this pops up in geophysics) to know that it is Chimborazo in Ecuador.
Axioms outside of mathematics do not exist.
So? Do headphones matter?
I did not listen to the song, just saw the lyrics.
I hate the songs nowadays... Nonsense lyrics and music.
