Averages

Hello, I was hoping you could help me. I'm trying to work out an average share price and the formular for how to do it.
If I bought 3 lots of shares in a company, 1st lot, 4000 @ .519 cents per share
                                                             2nd lot, 20,618 @ .485 cents per share
                                                            3rd lot,  11,904 @ .425 cents per share
What would be my average share price at a total of 32,522 shares?

Thank you for any help,

Re: Averages

Do you mean 0.519 dollars per share? If so:

4,000 * .519 = $2076
20,618 * .485 = $9999.73
11,904 * .425 = $5059.2

Add them all up and you get:
$2076 + $9999.73 + $5059.2 = $17,134.93
This is the cost of all the shares.

Now we take that number and divide it by the number of shares we have (32,522).

$17134.93/32522 = $0.526871963

Therefore, the average share price is 52.7 cents a share.
