How do I solve equations graphically?

Hi,
How do I solve the following two equations graphically?

2s + 10p = 1008
3s + 16p = 1596

And...

30.99 + 87.48 - 305.73 = 0

Thanks...manich44

Re: How do I solve equations graphically?

Hi manich44;

Since most automated graphers on the internet don't let you use other than x, y, say p = x and s = y. Solve for y and graph them. You will need to use a good grapher though because those two lines are almost on top of each other. The point where the 2 lines cross is the root.

And to anticipate you next question:

See that point of intersection that is the root to the system:

y = 2x - 9

y = x - 3

30.99 + 87.48 - 305.73 = 0

That is not an equation there are no variables. That is an expression and it is incorrect.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.
