I am studying for an exam... can someone please explain the answer to this problem.

The mean distance from the earth to the sun is approx. 93 million miles, or one astronomical unit (AU).  The mean distance from Neptune to the sun is approx. 2.794 x 10(to the 9th) miles.  What is the approx. mean distance from Neptune to the sun in astronomical units?

A. 30 AU
B. 300 AU
C. 3,000 AU
D. 30,000 AU

I have the answer but can't figure out how to get there.

Re: Word Problem

Hi aluka;

So the answer is A.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.
