Re: fractionnnnn!!!!! help !

Hi haiying;

Can you tell a little bit about what a,b, and x are? Are they integers? Are they positve? Are they negative?

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

Re: fractionnnnn!!!!! help !

If x is a positive real number, then it's basically like
a married couple whose ratio of ages gets closer and closer
together as they age through the decades.
As an example, say a 20 year old woman
marries a 40 year old man.    The ratio is 200% or 50%
depending who is 'a' or 'b'.
Now assume 12.36068 years goes by...
Hmmm deee hmmm...
OKay, now the man is 52.36068
and the woman is 32.36068.
Now there ratio is 161.8034% or 61.8034% depend
which person is 'a' or 'b' in the fraction.
So in this case, surprisingly, the golden ratio
has turned up in their marriage in just
over 12 years, and the fraction appears to
approach "1" or "one".   If larger than one, then
it goes down toward 1, if smaller than one, then it
goes up toward 1.
See ya... smile  smile
