Markov Models..are there any other methods?

Hi:

Writing a report...using Markov Modelling as the method to study and predict the trend of people going into an e-commerce site and eventually purchasing an item. Its like trying to predict and study trend of customer behaviour. The Model will include all parameters or incididences that can happen during the course of the purchase.

What I would like to know is, besides using the Markov Modelling method...is there any other procedures I could use? Or any other models....

here is a short intro on Markov Modelling>>

many thanks
