Orbifolds!!!

hi guys

i have recently found out about a book called "Geometry and the Imagination".There's a lot of cool stuff in there,but i am having trouble understanding the section about orbifolds,finding quotient orbifolds,and naming orbifolds.

can anybody help?

Well, here is where I can help.

There was a guy who was starving. I mean he had not eaten for weeks. He stumbled upon a buffet of food from another country. Yecch, I will not eat their food, too spicy! He keeled over dead. The moral: Sometimes eat what is available and not what you want. Or, when in Rome do as the Romans do!

that's different.the guy needed the food to live so if he wanted to live,he wouldn't have i choice.i have a choice because my life doesn't depend on it.

and i cannot see how the second moral relates.

There is lots of other math to do here and elsewhere that you can get help on. Unfortunately John Horton Conway is at Princeton boning up on his latin.
