Circle, diameter and chord

Only clues visible are that is a circle and the two line segments are perpendicular, prove that one of them is a diameter(if it is) and calculate angle A. Please enlarge my pic if required

hi Agnishom,

The diagram makes it look like it is a diameter.  So I tried and tried to prove this.

Then it occurred to me to try and draw it without that line being a diameter, whilst maintaining the right angle.

See diagram.

If that's all you are given then it doesn't have to be a diameter at all.

If it is then A = 90.
