Find the equation

Find the equation of the line passing through the point (-2,5) and parallel to the line y=2x-3.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
Of course that result can be rigorously obtained, but who cares?
Combinatorics is Algebra and Algebra is Combinatorics.

the options that I have are as follows:
y=-2x+1
y=-2x+3
y=-1/2x+4

Being that it is parallel, I thought that it was y=-2x+1. Would this not be correct?

No, none of those lines are parallel to y = 2x - 3

that was actually supposed to be y=-2x-3
find the equation of the line passing through the point (-2, 5) and parallel to y=-2x-3

y=-2x+1
y=-2x+3
y=-1/2x+4
y=2x-1
