Shape Proof

Circle Proof Question

The diagram is a rough representation of what it looks like.

The question is (something along the lines of):

Circle Y is smaller than circle X.

Q and R are tangent to circle X.

P and S are tangent to circle Y.

QR is a line tangent to both circles.

PS is also tangent to both circles.

T is the midpoint of PS (I forgot to put it on :X)

Show that PQSR is a rectangle.

I'm just interested in what you guys have come up with, as my proofs aren't exactly concise.

Re: Shape Proof

Hi;

Do you have any work to show of your own? It will be much easier to advise if we could see where you are stuck.

This statement

P and S are tangent to circle Y.

needs some explanation.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.
