What does this symbol mean (^)?

Sorry, this is probably one of the worst questions ever.

I seem to have forgotten what the ^ symbol means...now I don't know what to do! I can't find any pages anywhere that would refresh my memory! Please help.

Thanks.

Re: What does this symbol mean (^)?

3^(2x) means 3 raised to the power of 2x.

Re: What does this symbol mean (^)?

We tend to use it when typing, and it is also used in some programming languages.

But it is indeed just an Exponent or Power

Re: What does this symbol mean (^)?

We tend to use it when typing, and it is also used in some programming languages.

In programming languages like C++, it tends to mean XOR.

But yea, when we type math, it means to a power.
