Juggling Model

I'm doing a mathematical investigation of juggling for my extended essay, here's a graph of some of the displacement data I collected.

Does anybody what the shape of this graph is called?

Or how it could be represented mathematically?

Perhaps using a polar equation?

Thank you!

Re: Juggling Model

That looks like it could be represented by a parametric equation. Like, x = sin2t, y = cos3t.
It's not that, and I don't know what it is, but I bet it's that type of equation that you're looking for.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Re: Juggling Model

Thank you very much,

Parametric equations are new to me, I'm having a play around with that... doesn't look so good at first glance tongue I'll keep trying.
