The perfect square would be 9.. but the3 * 3* 3 * 3= 81 which is the square root of 81 * itself 4 times. And the numerator would be 2.. Because 2*2*2*2 = 16
But I'm not sure how to set it up etc, and my book doesn't do that great of a job explaining steps.

5. word problem (solve using an algebraic equation):
Ray works at two places, a fun job that pays only $4.50 an hour, and a high-pressure job that pays $7.00 an hour. Assuming that he can choose how many hours he works at each job in a given week, and that he plans to work a total of 40 hours this week, how many hours should he work at each job if he wants to average $6.00 an hour for the week?
I know the answer is 16 hrs at the 4.50 an hour job and 24 hrs at the 7.00 an hour job to give us an average of 6.00/hr but I have no clue how to set it up..
4.50 X + 7.00 X = ?
