in a group of sinngle mothers, 14% were on welfare while the others were employed . if 4300 were employed, how mmany mothers in this group were on welfare?

i did this..but now i think what i did isn't right. what are your thoughts on what i did :

14/100 = x/4300

100x = 60200

x = 602

I did 4300/86 (As the other 86% of the group are employed), and then *100 to get the amount of people in the group as a whole (5000), then subtracted the employed people (4300) to get the remaining number of people on welfare in the group as 700.

Hope that may be useful
