Help!

Ok it seems simple but i cant get the answer

An architects computer package draws the cross section of a shed on its screen by drawing the area bounded by the x-axis and the y-axis and the lines
x=2.4, 2y=6.8-x & 2y=x+4.4

If each unit on each axis represents 1 metre, calculate the area

So i know the answer is 6m² i just got figure out how i got there ok

Re: Help!

It’s quite straightforward, really. Plot the graphs to see what sort of the area you need to calculate. Determine the relevant points of intersection, and then calculate the area. smile

Re: Help!

You can plot the lines using this: Function Grapher and Calculator (you can plot 2 lines, so could see their intersection point, but to be accurate you should do some algebra to figure out the value, too)

Example: Plot of (6.8-x)/2 vs (x+4.4)/2

And figure out the are using this method: Area of Irregular Polygons
