Fish puzzle

eekHelp!
I gave some students the "Who owns the fish?" puzzle and I cant find the answer...they'll kill me!
Anyone know it?

Read the puzzle again.  Then read it again.  After you read it a third time and if you still state categorically that the person who owns the fish is the German then you are in the 98% of the population who get it wrong.

Yes, technically all we can deduce is that the other four people in the puzzle don't own the fish.

For all we know, the German might breed exotic mayflies and the fish turns out to be owned by Unmentioned Jamaican Man.
