Given any number, you can get its multiples by adding itself to itself repeatedly.
For example, the multiples of 6 are 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, etc.

A number x is a factor of a given number if the given number is a multiple of x.
So the factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12, because 12 is a multiple of all those.
