Differentiation

How do you differentiate f(x) = (x - 3) / (x^2 - 3x)?

Thank-you

Re: Differentiation

...and also,

the tangent of a line intersects a curve at point Q.

I realize that I have to say tangent = f(x)

so i get 4x^3  - 24x^2 + 45x - 23 = 9x-7
4x^3 - 24x^2 + 4+x - 16 = 0

I don't know how to factorize it in order to find x. Is there any good rule for this, or is it just trial and error? Thanks.

Re: Differentiation

use the following rule:

in this case:

The Beginning Of All Things To End.
The End Of All Things To Come.

Re: Differentiation

Do you need to include some kind of 'when x≠3' thing, or is that just assumed?

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.
