Question...If 5 with a small 2 to the right top = 5 squared or 25, then what is 5 with a small 2 to the right bottom???

I've never seen that notation to mean any type of numerical operation.  But for example, if I had three really similar things, I would call them:

To get across the idea that they share something in common, but in fact are different.


"In the real world, this would be a problem.  But in mathematics, we can just define a place where this problem doesn't exist.  So we'll go ahead and do that now..."
