How do you enter cube roots and radicals into the TI-89? I can't really give an example using the computer keyboard, so an example is on the following page:

Thanks,
Noah

My math teacher told me that you can't enter cube roots as they are shown with the root sign in the TI-89.
If you want

Notice the PARENTHESES in x^(1÷ 3)! They are essential. If you leave them off and use
x^1÷ 3, the calculator will interpret that as (x^1)÷(3) or just x/3.
This reminds me of when I fiddle with ratios of the musical notes; that is, their frequencies of vibration.
2 ^ (1/12) is the ratio between semitones or chromatic steps, in an equally tempered scale.
Just plain 2 is the ratio between notes an octave apart.
