Am i doing somthing wrong?

hey all,

i have this question in my test (practice)

Q) If a car is travalling at 64 mph how many miles will it have travalled in 45 minutes?

this is what i did just take 15 minutes away, but it turned at i was wrong the answer is really 48 but i am not sure how they got it, i have even tried taking 15 away then adding from lets say 60 which gives me 45 then adding the 4 back on which gives me 49?

Plz Help

Joe

one more thing am i correct in think that 0.2 can also be written as a half or as 50 as a whole number?

Re: Am i doing somthing wrong?

ok is there an easy way to multiple that for example do 60*3 then 4*4 or not as i find it really difficult to multiply fractions

Re: Am i doing somthing wrong?

Just multiply the top two numbers, then mutliply the bottom two numbers

Which is just 192 divided by 4, which gives 48.

Re: Am i doing somthing wrong?

Alternatively, you could just find a quarter of 64, and then multiply it by 3, which is probably easier in this question.
