Matrix-algebra calculating eigenvalues

Hi everyone

I have to calculate the eigenvalues of a matrix
the matrix is n x n and has a rank r (with r < n)

i know that because the matrix is not of full rank, 0 is an eigenvalue,

Now i'm wondering if 0 is an eigenvalue with (n-r) multiplicity?

if necessary, you may assume that the matrix is symmetric.

Any help would be gladly appreciated
