Solving for X problem

I've been out of math classes for quiet a while...and now im back... and now im kind of rusty...so help will be appreciated with the next excersie, how do i solve for X in these cases, please write down steps

Bx^ - 3ax+2d= 0

and
(     ) = square ROOT

(X+7) - (x+2) = 1

For future reference, there are some useful symbols at the top of the page that you can copy to make your post easier to read.

For the first question, use the quadratic formula.
If a quadratic is written in the form ax² + bx + c =0, then

. So for your question,

For the second, you need to remove the square roots from the equation by squaring both sides.
