A water tank is in the form of an inverted right circular cone with a base diamter 5 meters and slant height 6 meters .Find the volume of water it contains when
a. it is full
b. filled to a depth of 3 meters.
Offline
Diameter D = 5.0m
Radius R = 2.5m
H = √(6.0² - 2.5²) = 5.454m
1. Volume of Cone = (1/3)*PI*H*R² = 0.333*3.142*5.454*2.5*2.5 = 35.665m³
2. Cone filled to a depth of 3.0m
r = 2.500 * 3.0/5.454 = 1.375m
0.333*3.142*5.454*1.375*1.375 = 10.789m³

It looks like JurassicPlank1 is trying to do your homework for you. Beware, though. For example, JurassicPlank1s solution to this problem

is incorrect.
Much better to do your own homework than to copy somebody elses mistakes!
