I need to know how much sales tax I paid on 4,500.00 dolllars

$4500 * 7/100 = $315

ie. If the item cost $4500 before tax, then $315 tax would get added and the total price would be $4815.

If the total price was $4500 and you want to know how much of that was sales tax, then it's a bit more complicated. In that case, the tax would be about $294.
