Re: how to solve this math problem

Hi pinkims;

We have N=3 from which we can infer that D=1 because N*D = N.

N*A = A  and since there is no carry from the first column.
3*0=0
3*2 =6
3*4 =12
3*5 =15
3*6 =18
3*7=21
3* 8=24
3*9 = 27

So A=5 or A=0

If A =5 Then E=0 and we have 13303 as the answer with

P=2
A=5
D=1
N=3
C=7
E=0

              2   5    1

              X   5     3
         -----------------
              7    5    3
   1   2    5    5
   ---------------------
   1   3    3    0    3

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

Hi Sa;

Welcome to the forum. All problems are big for me.
