Factoring

Hi guys,

Having trouble with factoring polynomials.

1. a^2 - b^2 + 4b - 4

2.  4t^3 - s^2t - 6stz - 9tz^2

Thanks.

Re: Factoring

Hi panday;

I know you solved it but this is what I did. I used trial and error on (a-b)(a+b) adding a third term for each and came up with (a + b - 2)(a - b + 2).

Just got this one right now.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.

Re: Factoring

Wow, this is a really cool site! I have an assignment from my instructor to present a great math website and I am going to use this one. I am taking Math Across the Generations, I am a junior in college. I am just going to try and learn more about the website first . Any suggestions?
