Kami,Maria,And Shannelle Share Liveing expenses.Kami $65 Less each month than maria Shannelle pays twice as much each month
if total monthly liveing expenses are $985,Which equation Can be Used to Kami Share?

Hi Sarah;
If you mean the that Shannelle pays twice as much as Maria then;
What Maria pays = x
What Kami pays = x-65
What Shannelle pays = 2x
x + (x-65) + 2x = 4x - 65
4x - 65 = 985
4x = 1050
x = 1050 / 4
x = $262.50 is what Maria pays
x - 65 = $ 197.50 is what Kami pays
2x = $525.00 is what Shannelle pays

You try to turn the words in your problem into algebra. Since we said that what Maria pays is x and Kami pays 65 dollars less then Kami pays x - 65 dollars.
