Riemann Zeta function?

How Do I Calculate Riemann Zeta Functions?

How are they calculated? And what is it used for?

ex: how to calculate ζ(2)? or ζ(3)? I know ζ(2) = pi^2 / 6, but why? please help.

Re: Riemann Zeta function?

Hi zetafunc;

Euler discovered the method for all zeta(2n) for the odd ones their are no exact analytical answers known. Except for the ones here:

http://mathworld.wolfram.com/AperysConstant.html

Here you must really use wikipedia first:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riemann_zeta_function

Warning: the zeta function and conjectures about it are very difficult. You might be jumping ahead of yourself.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.
