Re: need help with this integration problem-urgent

Hi chocoholic4lyf;

Please use brackets to communicate what you want.  It confused Jane and soroban and confused me too.

You write this indefinite integral like this:

∫ dx / (√(x) -1)

Say x = u^2

dx = 2 u du

Now substitute:

Can you do it now?

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.

Re: need help with this integration problem-urgent

Hi chocoholic4lyf;

What are you now getting for the final answer?

To Jane and soroban;

Just realized I phrased my point incorrectly, I didn't mean that either of you were confused, that is not what I meant. I meant that the way the problem was written caused a misinterpretation. Please pardon me for being vague.

Hi chocoholic4lyf;

You have a slight error in that integration, please check your work again. If you still don't see it then post your steps.
