Statistics Help Please (Two-sample t-test)

Hello.  I was looking at some practice problems in my textbook, and I was puzzled about how to attempt the following question.  Any help would be very much appreciated!

The two-sample t-statistic is defined as

where Sp = sqrt[((m+1)Sx^2 + (n+1)Sy^2) divided by (m+n-2)].

Express t in terms of T1 =

, T =
, and T* =
.

Re: Statistics Help Please (Two-sample t-test)

Correction above:  It should be (m-1) and (n-1) in the numerator of the fraction underneath the square root for the expression for Sp and not (m+1) and (n+1)
