Implicit differentiation?

Suppose that x and y are related by the given equation and use implicit differentiation to determine dy/dx

4x^5 + y = 4y^5 + x

I got the answer (-20x^4 - 1)/(20y^4 - 1). Is that right?

Re: Implicit differentiation?

Hi all;

That's what I am getting also.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.
