I have a TI-83 plus. How do I enter functions into the calculator? y=x^2 -4x + 12 for example. Specifically the 4x. Also, what if I need to enter x^5. Thanks.

what do you want to do exactly? draw a graph ? if you want to enter x^5 well you press x then the key ^ and then 5. the key should be located on the top right hand side.
