Re: Products of numbers

You can find the other number by dividing 12 by 2 1/4.

2 1/4 = 2+(1/4) = 9/4

Now divide 12 by 9/4

12 ÷ 9/4 = 12 × 4/9 = 16/3 = 5 1/3

The other number is "5 1/3".

Re: Products of numbers

I need help using the digits1,2,3,4,and 5 to form a two-digit and three-digit number so that their product is the least product possible, using each digit only once. thank you!

Re: Products of numbers

Hi tycoal

Welcome to the forum.

If you don't require that the product also is from the set {1,2,3,4,5} then

13 * 245 = 3185

Hi all;

Nice latexing, soroban!

Tycoal;

That is the point. The 2 digits are the key! There are only 10 of them, 5 choose 2. Easy to try all of them. You use anything you can when solving a problem! It is all fair!
