Re: Inductive Reasoning Help

Hi Joseph Allensworth;

That is a lot of questions. But I don't see any of your work.
If this is homework and that is what it looks like, than some teacher has assigned it for you to to do.
Homework is an important part of your development.
It is unfair for you to receive aid from the people on this forum and get a higher mark than the students who worked hard and did it themselves.
Everyone here with the exception of me did their own homework.
Even I didn't cheat and ask someone else, I just didn't do it and flunked.

Your teacher has probably shown you a simple method to solve those as they are all of the same type.
You have registered in here under other names and asked for your homework to be done for you.
Looking down the list I see some famous names. They all have helped you get good grades.
When do you start to work for yourself?

Cmon, show me some work, some effort.
Then I will take you through all nine happily.
Taking the shortcuts now means taking the long hard way later. Believe me.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.

I just don't understand how to do it. And my teacher doesn't explain it well at all.

Re: Inductive Reasoning Help

Hi Joe;

What exactly are you after. Are you trying to fit a formula to those sequences?
That is what it looks like to me. Your question is a little vague. Also what textbook did they come out of?

Re: Inductive Reasoning Help

Hi Joe;

This is what I mean, you have to use the old noodle to solve the problem. There are math ways to get the answers and I will show them but sometimes math just shows an easier way. When you are stuck then use the hard way! Look at #3

Look at the values,

3 went to 6 up by 3
6 went to 10 up by 4
10 went to 15 up by 5
15 went to 21 up by 6
21 went to 28 up by 7

See that pattern? Next one is going to go up by what? You guessed it 8, so the 28 goes up to 36. Now the 36 goes up by 9 to 45 ( eigth term). You finish on this one following the same pattern.

The value of this? You will get an answer for yourself. Also on a test you will get partial credit, depending on the teacher how much. Never leave an answer blank, never at school, never at work!!!!
Give your teacher or boss a chance to make a judgment in your favor.
Always make it look like you worked hard on this!

What do you get for the twentieth term. Then we will look at a math way that will shorten this all up.
