Re: The mode

Hi cattyfifi;

Is there a piece of data that occurs the most? Nope. No mode for that set. Welcome to the forum!

Re: The mode

Thank you for coming back to me! I really do appreciate it! I am doing a project on shop sales before a refit and after a refit, i have snap a snap shot of data for each and now realize that the data i have chosen might not of been the best snap shot or may be far to complicated for my ability. Can i safely say that there is no mode, or is that not a mathematical thing to say?

Re: The mode

No mode for that set of data. That is correct. Here is just one link, go about a quarter down the page.

Re: The mode

Now i find myself facing my final challenge the ratio! My chosen data this time is 847 customers before the refit to 720 after the refit! How do i work out the ratio???? Can i do it simply?

Hi cattyfifi;

I am not following you. The ratio of what?

Re: The mode

I am not sure! Customers that shopped in the store before the refit to after! Is that not a ratio that can be worked out! I sound so thick!

Re: The mode

Hi;

A ratio is a fraction of something to something. What are you comparing, number of customers? If so the ratio of customes after the the refit and before the refit is:

Means you had 1.17 times as many customers before the refit.

Re: The mode

I know! My A level Maths friend has answered it for me! His answer is as follows:
of course smile as you had 847 customers before you want to get this down to 1. so divide 847 and 720 by 847. This gives a ratio of 1 : 0.85. You can use the same method to work out ratios for all sorts of stuff (conveniant!)
