Re: conversion of cubic units! HELP!

Hi;

Welcome to the Forum:

1 cubic meter equals 1.30795062 cubic yards

So we times by 8

8 X 1.30795062 = 10.4636 cubic yards

Round in the third decimal place to 10.464 cubic yards.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.

Re: conversion of cubic units! HELP!

but how would you find that if the only info you were allowed to have was that 1 m = 1.094 y?

Re: conversion of cubic units! HELP!

Hi;

That is a little inaccurate, you will be close to the right answer but not close enough.
1 meter = 1.0936133 yards.

To convert to a cubic meter and cubic yard you cube both numbers.

(1 yard x 1 yard x 1 yard) = 1 yard^3 or 1 cubic yard.

(1.0936133 meters x 1.0936133 meters x 1.0936133 meters ) = 1.307950625 meters^3 = 1.30795062 cubic meters

8 X 1.30795062 = 10.4636 cubic yards

Round in the third decimal place to 10.464 cubic yards.
