Re: Help with 4th question please???

Hi Mister_Scary;

Let us look at the first step in this problem. What can you do right away to simplify this problem?

(4 - 2) (x - 2)= 4x - 8 Take a look at the first parentheses (4 - 2) , you know that one.

Well thanks for the answer on the first question. I'll keep posting the other five around the internet until I can get them answered.

That is your answer to ( 4 - 2 )!!!!
You have 4 dollars and you spend 2 dollars how many dollars do you have left?
Just do that part, show me some effort. It is more work to go around posting it on every forum you can find. If you are smart enough and industrious enough to find forums then I know you can do this.

I came up with X = 2 on this one.

Re: Help with 4th question please???

Hi;

That looks like another guess. Remember we guess when we are stuck. We are not stuck here and can do better than a guess. Here is where we are.

(4 - 2) (x - 2)= 4x - 8

We will work on this one step at a time. See that (4 - 2) what does that equal? Are you stuck there?

Re: Help with 4th question please???

2 makes the problem to the left of the equals sign, equal zero. 2 also makes the problem to the right of the equal sign, a zero.

Re: Help with 4th question please???

Hi Mister_Scary;

You do understand. And you understand on higher level than you know. That is correct. I do not want to kill your guessing at solution instinct. Far from it, I will enhance it. Sometimes you will not be able to solve them in your head like that. That is why we learn to manipulate equations, that is what Algebra really is.

Please follow me. W e are here.

(4 - 2) (x - 2)= 4x - 8

If we do not know the answer I will show you how to get it in another way. Start with the 4 - 2 = ?
