Hi NomNomNom;

A) i)

I presume this is what you mean?!

Clear out the fractions by multiplying by 12.

Cleaning up

Added 12 to both sides.

Subtracted 3x from both sides

Could you do that for all of them if it's not too much trouble? I really need them.

B) i)

To solve by elimination means to add or subtract the equations. To solve this by elimination we add the equations. That causes the y term to disappear.

Substitute x = 3 into the second equation and solve, you get y = 2.

The solution is x = 3 and y = 2.

C) i)

That can be factored by inspection easily.

Multiply again by 12.

Clean up:

Add 42 to both sides:

Subtract 8x from both sides:

For C) ii) Use the quadratic formula:

With a = 2 b= 3 and c = - 7

plugging in you get:

I don't understand that in the slightest, could you just show me what I need to write down for the answers? for C I put in the real numbers. neutral

For A) ii: you wrote a "-" instead of a "+" does that matter?

Just write it the way I put it down, r1 and r2 represent the roots. I did not do C ii first please check post #5

B)ii

By substitution. Solve for y in the second equation.

plug the y back into the first equation and clean up.

Solve for x

Plug the x value into the second equation.

Solve ,

Hi;

That will not be necessary.
But the next time you are in here you will learn some math or I will die trying. Understand?

Divide by 2:

Complete the square by taking half of the b term in this case 5 / 2 and squaring it.

Take square root of both sides:

So roots are:
