Re: Help needed with graphic methods :)

Hi;

Do you remember this? I do!

That will not be necessary.
But the next time you are in here you will learn some math or I will die trying. Understand?

I start with b, cause b is for bobbym.

You have a quadratic. Do you know how to graph that? I do it like this:

Make a chart.

x

y

Following me so far? Anything familiar?

Re: Help needed with graphic methods :)

I have to go out sorry, if you could still explain these to me it would be much appreciated. Just try to go through it in steps and I'll just ask if I don't understand any big_smile ty again.

Re: Help needed with graphic methods :)

Hi;

Hmmmm! So, ducking me and the math again.

smiley_31.gif

Use a graphical method to determine the width of the tunnel at its base (ie where y = 0).

Now there are easier ways to plot a giraffola, I mean a parabola but for learning let us start here.

Do you remember how to get those x's and y's? You take the equation you are given and plug in numbers for x.

-0.4x² + 6 = y Plug in x = 0

-.4 * 0^2 + 6 = y

y = 6. Look in my table next to 0 you will see a 6.

Here is another one, plug in x = 1.

-.4*(1)^2 + 6, now -.4 plus 6 is 5.6, so y = 5.6 when x = 1. Chrck out the above table.

Do you know how to graph them? Do you have graph paper or a program?

"Hmmmm! So, ducking me and the math again."   I said I'm organizing a tutor but for now I need these done, I'll have to ask someone else. I can't wait hours for a reply, thanks for everything though! smile

Re: Help needed with graphic methods :)

Hi NomNomNom;

I did answer the question and I would tutor you. What is wrong with that? I did them as fast I could.

I stopped at the point of actually graphing your points. This is where you and I need to interact.
To tutor you, you must be here. I need your presence and full attention.

Re: Help needed with graphic methods :)

I'm sorry I had to take a trip, haven't been at my PC since. I appreciate you're help but I've got a part time tutor kind of thing setup so it's all good now. Thanks again, especially for the last one big_smile

Hi NomNomNom;

You know I was kidding about the ducking thing. I know how hard it is. Post if you have a problem.
