Adding,subtracting,multypling and dividing hard equations

Hi everyone!!!
          I currently had a lesson on equations. It's been awhile since iv'e practiced about it. I need someone to define or tell me how to do it in the most clearest way.
  Or you can just tell me how YOU understand it.I appreciate everyone who helps. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! dunno

Hi mathgirl1997;

Can you copy the lesson, or some of it. Even just a little bit of it so I can see what your problem is. I will go over each one with you.

Dear bobbym,
         Oops,sorry if i didnt clarify that. If you could show me an example of YOUR OWN ,explaining it, that would be wonderful!!! big_smile

Hi;

Were they linear equations like this:

or

There are many, many forms of equations. Which are you doing?

Okay,

Can you solve

x - 9 = 13

bobbym:::::::::
          x-9=13       X=22
I think it is right.

Re: Adding,subtracting,multypling and dividing hard equations

bobbym,
             Well i figured the opposite of the problem was 13+9 which is 22. And i plugged in the numbers: 22-9=13.

Re: Adding,subtracting,multypling and dividing hard equations

That is great and I hate to discourage that type of thinking but there is a procedure, a method that does these. It is very similar to your idea. Have you seen it?

Yes i learned that yesterday. smile
If you don't mind, can you pls check this list:
Negative+negative=positive
negative+positive=negative
positive+positive=positive.(i know this one smile )

Re: Adding,subtracting,multypling and dividing hard equations

Yes, now how about looking at this:

Take 5 away from both sides.

Divide by 3.

How was that? Do you follow that?
