Re: re-arranging to make A the subject

Certainly it's possible, however, you will have As on both sides.

hi,

is there a way to have a single A on one side and no As on the other?

Hi there,

No I don't think that that is possible in this case. It is, however, perfectly acceptable to have As on both sides, simply rearrange it such that you have it in that form.

Hi maltlover;

Yes you can do it but it is not easy. You have to be able to solve a cubic equation.

That's a very good point Bobbym, I completely overlooked that, for which I appologise.

Hi Au101;

I do not think I greeted you yet with the official forum greeting. So, here it is.

Welcome to the forum!

No apology necessary!
If this forum and forums in general are going to teach you one thing is that no one never makes a mistake. Problems on forums are nasty, remember some one else already could not solve them. That is why they posted it.

Re: re-arranging to make A the subject

The reason for that is simple, it is rare that I am smarter than the person posing the question. So we automatically understand each other. If I answer a question it is only because I asked it yesterday or the day before.
